Former Manchester United defender and current football expert Gary Neville believes that London’s Arsenal will pose a serious challenge to Manchester City in the current season of the English Premier League.
Neville was quoted by the Evening Standard as saying:
I think it was good last year and I think it’s going to be good this year. I think City know that there’s someone creeping up on their shoulder. There’s no doubt that Arsenal are on their shoulder. Pep Guardiola is smelling and feeling the challenge. He wants this challenge. They don't want to give in City, they don't want to make it easy for them. But I like the way in which it is going to pan out.
After six matches in the Premier League for the 2024/25 season, Liverpool leads the table with 15 points. Both Manchester City and Arsenal have 14 points each from the same number of games. The current Premier League champions are City, who have lifted the trophy four times in the last four years.
