Former England national team head coach Gareth Southgate penned a heartfelt letter following the announcement of his departure from the position.
Southgate said, as reported by journalist Ben Jacobs:

On July 16, the Football Association of England (FA) announced Southgate's departure from the role of head coach of the national team.
Southgate represented the national team as a player from 1995 to 2006. After ending his professional playing career, Gareth took over as the head coach in 2016.
