The England squad, led by Gareth Southgate, has announced the final 26-man squad for the World Cup.
Notably, the list includes 22-year-old Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher, as well as Leicester midfielder James Maddison, who previously played only 1 match for the national team, coming on as a substitute in the game against Montenegro in autumn 2019. Maddison scored six goals and provided four assists in 12 EPL games during the 2022/23 season.
England will play in the group with the United States, Iran and Wales in the group stage of the 2022 World Cup.
