The friendly football game between Iran and Canada was canceled due to backlash because Canadian MPs said that Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps,a part of Iranian Armed forces shot down a Canadian Airplane back in 2020. Apart from the MPs, the families of the victims of the crash also announced that they would protest if the match goes ahead.
