French President Emmanuel Macron caled not to politicize sports in the wake of criticism of pollution and human rights abuses in Qatar before the start of the FIFA World Cup.

Emmanuel Macron, quoted by Get French Football News
I don't think we should politicize sports. We aren't going to discuss human rights and climate issues in Qatar every time we talk about the tournament.

The Qatar World Cup begins on November 20 at 4 p.m. GMT with the opening match between Qatar and Ecuador. The final match will be held in Lusail on December 18. Thirty-two national teams will play in the group stage of the tournament.
