The French Football Federation (FFF) announced on its official website that the French national team captain Kylian Mbappe will miss the match against Iceland in Reykjavik, scheduled for Monday, October 13, due to an ankle injury.
It is noted that the forward will return to the Real Madrid squad, and the French national team does not plan to call up a replacement for him.
Mbappe sustained the ankle injury during the 2026 World Cup qualifier match against Azerbaijan (3-0), as previously reported by the French head coach Didier Deschamps. In the current qualifying cycle, the forward has played three matches, scoring three goals and providing two assists.
