
Former Real Madrid midfielder and member of Spain’s U21 team, Javier Dorado, has passed away at the age of 48, according to a statement from the club.
Dorado, who was a product of Real Madrid’s youth academy, won the Champions League with the club in the 1999/2000 season. Besides Real Madrid, he played for Rayo Vallecano, Sporting, and Mallorca.
Since 2022, the former Real player had been fighting cancer. In May of the previous year, Dorado underwent a bone marrow transplant.
