
According to Marca, the Spanish prosecution has demanded a 15.5-year prison sentence for Ángel María Villar, the former head of the Royal Spanish Football Federation.
Villar, a former player for the Spanish national team and Athletic Bilbao, led Spanish football from 1988 to 2017. He also held a prominent position in UEFA, serving as president of the organization from October 2015 to September 2016, between Michel Platini and Aleksander Ceferin.
Reports indicate that Villar is accused of abuse of power, embezzling funds through contract agreements from 2007 to 2017. The damages to the RFEF are estimated at four and a half million euros.
