Former Germany Defender Jerome Boateng Receives Suspended Fine For Assaulting Ex-Girlfriend

The 2014 World Cup champion and former Bayern Munich central defender Jerome Boateng, now playing for Austrian club LASK, has been sentenced to a suspended fine for assaulting his ex-girlfriend, the mother of his two daughters.

As reported by Reuters, the 35-year-old defender received a suspended fine of 200,000 euros. This penalty will become real if he commits another offense. In that case, Boateng will be required to pay 5,000 euros over 40 days. Additionally, the court ordered him to donate around 100,000 euros to charity.

In March 2024, amid the scandal involving Boateng's assault on his girlfriend Sherin Senler, the footballer's mother stated that her son had subjected women to physical and emotional violence for a long time.

In October 2023, it was revealed that a transfer of the defender back to Bayern Munich fell through, even though he had been training with the main squad of the Munich team.
