Former German Player Ozil May Join Turkey's Ruling Party Executive Committee

Mesut Ozil, the former German national team player, is being considered as a potential candidate for the Central Executive Committee of Turkey's ruling Justice and Development Party. This was reported by Halk TV.

Ozil, born in Gelsenkirchen and of Turkish descent, ended his professional football career in the spring of 2023. In Germany, he played for Schalke and Werder Bremen before moving to Real Madrid and Arsenal in London. The final stages of his career were in the Turkish Super League, where he played for Fenerbahçe and Istanbul Başakşehir.

This midfielder is the Spanish Champion, theGerman Cup winner, as well as the Spanish Cup and Supercup winner. Additionally, he has won the FA Cup four times and the FA Community Shield three times. On the international stage, he earned a gold medal at the 2014 World Cup and a bronze medal at the 2010 World Cup, along with two bronze medals at the European Championship in 2012 and 2016.
