The press service of the British government announced the awarding knighthood to Gareth Southgate, former head coach of the England national team.
Southgate led the national team since 2016, achieving the best results in the history of the England national team at the European Championships - two silver medals.
Under his leadership, the national team also finished fourth at the 2018 World Cup in Russia. Southgate, 54, left his post in July after a 1-2 defeat to Spain in the Euro 2024 final.
Earlier, Southgate shared his plans for coaching on social media.
