Former China national team coach and ex-Everton footballer Li Tie has been sentenced to life imprisonment for arranging fixed matches and accepting a bribe of €385,000.
According to the Chinese news outlet Sohu, Li Tie admitted to offering a bribe of €385,000 to become the head coach of the Chinese national team.
Li Tie led the Chinese national team from 2020 to 2021. In 2002, the former footballer joined Everton, spending a total of 4 years there and participating in 36 matches.
