Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo has been recognized by Forbes as the highest-paid football player of 2024, earning a staggering $285 million.
Out of this amount, $220 million comes from his contract with the Saudi club Al Nassr, while approximately $65 million is generated from activities outside of football. This marks a record income in football history, surpassing his own achievement from 2023 when he earned $260 million.
Previously, Ronaldo launched his own line of watches and is planning to create his own cryptocurrency.
In second place on the list is Lionel Messi, forward for Inter Miami, who will earn $135 million, falling short of Ronaldo's on-field earnings ($60 million compared to $220 million), but surpassing him in commercial earnings ($75 million versus $65 million).
Completing the top three is Brazilian Neymar, with an income of $110 million, playing for Al Hilal.
In the current season, Ronaldo has played nine matches for his team, scoring eight goals and providing three assists. His contract with Al Nassr runs until the summer of 2025, and the Transfermarkt website estimates his market worth at €15 million.
