The Football Writers Association of England (FWA) recognized 22-year-old Norwegian Manchester City striker Erling Haaland as the player of the year.
This season Haaland holds the record for most goals in the English league for a season. The Norwegian scored 35 goals in 32 EPL games and surpassed the previous achievement of 34 goals, set in the 1993/94 season by Andy Cole and repeated a year later by Alan Shearer. Both players scored 34 goals in the system with 22 teams, while Haaland scored 35 goals in the championship with 20 clubs.
In total, Haaland has 47 matches for Manchester City, 51 goals and eight assists.
