Former goalkeeper of Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain, and the Italian national team, head of the Azzurri delegation, and 2006 World Cup champion Gianluigi Buffon, according to Football Italia, could step down from his role following Italy's exit from Euro-2024.
The source reported that the 46-year-old Buffon will soon meet with the Italian Football Federation leadership to discuss his future in the national team. There is a high likelihood that the veteran will depart from the team.
