Football Insider: Guardiola Close to Extending Contract with Man City

Football Insider reports that Pep Guardiola, the manager of Premier League club Manchester City, is nearing an extension of his contract with the Citizens, which currently runs until the end of June 2025.

According to the source, this occurred after Thomas Tuchel was appointed as the head coach of the England national team. It should be noted that the 53-year-old Spanish coach himself denied earlier reports of his potential move to the Three Lions in a comment to Sky Sports. Now, Guardiola is contemplating extending his contract with Manchester City for another year.

As of now, after seven matches in the 2024/2025 Premier League season, City sit in second place in the league table with a total of 17 points. In the group stage of the Champions League, the team has accumulated four points from two matches and currently occupies eighth place out of a possible 36.
