FIFA Reaches Out to Real Madrid After Pressuring Referees

FIFA has contacted Real Madrid and expressed its confusion regarding the referees' press conference held before the Copa del Rey final against Barcelona, scheduled for April 26th at 23:00 GMT+3.

Ricardo de Burgos Bengoetxea has been appointed as the chief referee. According to El Chiringuito TV, FIFA considers holding such a press conference ahead of a final match to be an unusual step.

During the press conference, Bengoetxea emotionally responded to criticism from Real Madrid's club television, sharing that his child had cried because classmates called his father a thief.

Pablo González Fuertes, the VAR referee, also expressed dissatisfaction with a video released by Real Madrid. Prior to this, the club's television aired footage criticizing the appointment of Bengoetxea for the final, pointing out his mistakes in previous matches involving Real Madrid and calling for the referee team to be changed.

Earlier reports suggested that FIFA might suspend Real Madrid winger Vinicius Junior from football for up to two years.
