FIFA Bars Club Leon from 2025 Club World Cup Participation

FIFA’s appeals committee has disqualified the Mexican club Leon from participating in the 2025 Club World Cup. Information regarding the team that will replace Leon will be announced later.

According to FIFA’s press service, the reason for the disqualification is that the club is owned by a company that also owns the Mexican club Pachuca, which has already qualified for the tournament.

Leon are eight-time champions of Mexico and five-time national cup and super cup winners.

The 2025 Club World Cup will take place in the United States from June 15 to July 13.
