The EPL has sent a complaint to FIFA over the organization's failure to consult with national leagues and clubs on the new format of the Club World Cup, the Daily Mail reports.
According to the source, the EPL signed a letter of complaint that was sent to FIFA by the World League Forum (WLF), the organization that represents 44 national leagues in the world, including La Liga, Serie A and the Bundesliga.
According to the new reform proposed by FIFA, 32 clubs representing six continental federations will take part in the Club World Cup. The new format of the tournament should be introduced in 2025.
The first finalist of the 2023 Club World Cup was Brazil's Fluminense, who defeated Al-Ahli at the previous stage. Manchester City and Urawa Red Diamonds will meet in the second semifinal.
