The teams ended regular time with a 1-1 draw. In the penalty shootout, England's players won with a score of 5-3, with the only missed shot by Switzerland defender Manuel Akanji.

After the match, a photo surfaced showing instructions written on Pickford's water bottle on how to react to Switzerland's shots.

It should be noted that the clues were about which way to jump for some players, while for others, there were also false moves or reaction saves on the cheat sheet.

In the semifinals, England will play against the Netherlands. The match will take place on July 10th at 22:00 GMT+3.

Earlier, Pickford equaled England's record for the most clean sheets in major tournaments.

Moreover, the goalkeeper injured his hand during the warm-up before the Round of 16 match against the Slovakian national team.
