Former French national team player Emmanuel Petit has commented on the performance of national team striker Kylian Mbappe at the 2024 European Football Championship.
Petit stated, as reported by COPE:
So far, he is not worthy of being captain. Kylian does not take enough responsibility on the field. He will only play because the opponent is Spain. Otherwise, I would have left him on the bench.
The Euro 2024 semifinal match between France and Spain will take place on July 9th at 22:00 GMT+3. England and the Netherlands have also advanced to the semifinals, with their match scheduled for July 10th at 22:00 GMT+3.
Former Chelsea and Australia national team goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer had previously criticized France national team striker Kylian Mbappe's role as captain.
