According to El Nacional, Erling Haaland, the striker for Premier League club Manchester City and the Norwegian national team, is contemplating the possibility of leaving the club.
Reports suggest the 24-year-old forward's unhappiness with the Citizens' recent performances may lead to a team change. It seems unlikely that City would be able to keep Haaland if he makes a final decision to leave, even with his current contract running until the end of June 2034. Among the teams interested in acquiring the forward are Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich.
On March 18, it was already reported that Haaland might leave if the City fails to secure a Champions League spot for next season.
On April 1, Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola mentioned in an interview with the team’s press service that due to an injury sustained in the FA Cup quarterfinal match against Bournemouth (2-1), the Norwegian would be sidelined for five to seven weeks and should be back by the end of the 2024/2025 season.
In 28 matches of the current Premier League season, Haaland has scored 21 goals and provided three assists. He also scored eight goals in nine UEFA Champions League fixtures. Transfermarkt estimates Haaland at 200 million euros.
