Edinson Cavani Retires From Uruguay National Team

Striker Edinson Cavani from Boca Juniors announced his retirement from the Uruguay national team this summer.

Cavani began his professional career in 2005 with the Uruguayan club Danubio. Throughout his career, he played for Italian clubs Palermo and Napoli, French team Paris Saint-Germain, English Manchester United, and Spanish Valencia.

With Napoli, he won the Italian Cup in the 2011/2012 season. At PSG, he made a mark as one of the best strikers, scoring 200 goals across all competitions. He joined Boca Juniors last summer.

Debuting for Uruguay in 2008, Cavani played 136 matches and scored 58 goals, making him the second-highest scorer in the national team's history.
