The website of German Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund officially announced the resignation of 41-year-old specialist Edin Terzic as head coach.
According to the statement, the German-Croatian coach himself submitted his resignation letter, which was signed by the Dortmund management.
It is incredibly painful for me to say this to all Black & Yellow fans, but today I am parting company with Borussia Dortmund. It was a huge honour to win the DFB Cup with BVB and to lead this fantastic club to the Champions League final. I wish Borussia Dortmund the very best, thank you and see you soon.
During his tenure since December 2020, with a break for the 2021/2022 season, Borussia won the German Cup in the 2020/2021 season, finished as Bundesliga runners-up (2022/2023), and was the Champions League finalist in the previous season of 2023/2024. In the final match at Wembley in London, the Black-and-Yellows lost 0-2 to Real Madrid.
Former Borussia midfielder and UEFA Champions League winner in 1996/1997, Wladimir But, suggested that the team’s exit to the final of the most prestigious club tournament in Europe was largely a matter of chance.
