Initial medical examinations for 17-year-old Lamine Yamal, a forward for the Spanish national team and FC Barcelona, have shown a muscle injury in his left leg, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The winger sustained this injury during the UEFA Nations League group stage match against Denmark, which ended 1-0.
A source from the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) reported that Yamal faced overexertion. The medical team of the RFEF plans to conduct a follow-up examination on October 13 to further assess the severity of the injury.
It's important to note that Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams did not join the national team due to the injury sustained in La Liga.
Spain's next match is scheduled for October 15 against Serbia, with kickoff set for 21:45 GMT+3.
Previously, head coach Luis de la Fuente responded to the rough treatment towards Yamal in a conversation with AS.
