Former football star David Beckham, who previously became a co-owner of the Counter-Strike club Guild Esports, has officially sold the team.
In June 2020, the retired athlete invested approximately £480,000 in the esports organization known as Guild Esports. Upon becoming a co-owner, Beckham acquired a 11.7% stake in the club.
However, it has now been revealed that Beckham has completely given ownership of the club to new hands. The new owner is DCB Sports LLC, an investment firm that specializes in sports and video games.
The sale took place recently, with Beckham selling the club for a relatively low sum for the esports world – $130,000.
For the most part, GUILD’s teams primarily competed in mobile games and less popular disciplines, while the rosters for VALORANT, CS2, and Rocket League were disbanded during 2024.
