26-year-old midfielder Dani Olmo from FC Barcelona may be sidelined for approximately two weeks due to a thigh injury he sustained during the fifth round of La Liga against Girona, which ended with a score of 4-1.
Olmo started the match and managed to score a goal but was substituted in the 61st minute due to the injury. According to AS, he is dealing with issues in the back of his thigh, and recovery may take around 10 days.
As a result of his injury, Olmo risks missing Barcelona’s upcoming match against Monaco in the Champions League, as well as the game against Villarreal in La Liga.
A product of Barcelona's youth academy, Olmo signed with the club in August 2024 after transferring from RB Leipzig. He has played three matches for the Catalans, scoring one goal in each.
Under the leadership of new coach Hansi Flick, Barcelona is currently unbeaten in their first five matches of La Liga, standing at the Spanish league table with 15 points.
Earlier, Marca reported that financial issues may lead Barcelona to lose Olmo.
