Former Sevilla, Barcelona, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain defender and Brazil national team player Dani Alves published on his social media page his first post after leaving prison.
The 40-year-old ex-footballer wrote on his social media:
It is not true that I granted any interview to any media outlets, nor will I grant it until the court process is resolved.
On January 20, Alves was arrested by Spanish police for assault and rape, allegedly occurring in a Barcelona nightclub on December 30, 2022, and taken into custody. On February 22, the court sentenced the ex-defender, whose last club was Mexican Liga MX club UNAM Pumas, to 4.5 years in prison, as well as five years of suspended sentence and payment of 150 thousand euros in moral compensation to the victim.
March 25, it became known that Dani Alves was released on bail of one million euros on the condition of not leaving Barcelona and appearing before the local authorities at their first demand. On March 28, Brazilian media reported that the footballer, who is the Olympic champion in 2020, six-time champion of Spain and two-time champion of France, after leaving prison threw a birthday party for his father.
