Captain of the Portuguese national team Cristiano Ronaldo has set a new record for the number of participations in European Championships by being included in the squad for the upcoming tournament in Germany.
Euro 2024 will take place from June 14 to July 14. Portugal will face Turkey, the Czech Republic, and Georgia in the group stage.
The continental tournament in Germany will become Ronaldo’s sixth European Championship over his career. The forward has previously participated in the Euro championships in 2004, 2008, 2012, 2016, and 2021. The Portuguese national team emerged as the tournament winners in 2016.
Ronaldo previously stated that football itself motivates him throughout his career. It has been reported that Cristiano may extend his contract with Al-Nassr until 2026.
