Goalkeeper of the Belgian national football team Thibaut Courtois said that during the conflict with him the head coach of the national team Domenico Tedesco threatened to transfer their personal conversations to the press.
Recall, the goalkeeper left the training camp of the Belgians in June before their completion. Then Tedesco stated that Courtois was not satisfied with the deprivation of his captain's armband in the national team.
National team striker Romelu Lukaku was made captain. It was also reported that the goalkeeper had quarreled with his national teammates.
De Standaard quotes Courtois as saying:
It wasn’t a good decision to immediately leave training camp in June. I let the team down, I understand that. I would like to clarify that the problem did not concern the captaincy, it was the lack of recognition. Suddenly the coach said: “If you leave the training camp, I will go to the press and make all our conversations public, it will end badly for you.”
Last season, the Real Madrid's 31-year-old goalkeeper kept a clean sheet in 17 meetings out of 49.
Earlier Tedesco Called Courtois the best goalkeeper in the world.
