Chilean national team defender Guillermo Soto in an exclusive interview with Telecomasia.net talked about the iconic footballers of Argentina Lionel Messi and Diego Maradona.
- Messi is obviously an idol for the Argentines. In your opinion, who is more of an idol: Messi or Maradona?
- Ooooh, it's a very serious confrontation! I think they are both idols for Argentina, it's just that Messi is more relevant now.
- When the Ghanaian national team reached the quarterfinals of the World Cup, the whole of Africa was celebrating. Is Argentina's victory considered an event for all Latin American countries to celebrate? Or is there no such thing?
- I think all people who love football wanted Messi to win because he is a unique player. It wasn't only the Argentines who wanted him to win," Soto said.
Maradona and Messi became world champions with the Argentina national team. Maradona won the title in 1986 and Messi won it 36 years later.
