London football club Chelsea released an official statement regarding the conflict in the Middle East between Israel and the Palestinian territory of Gaza Strip.
The club said in its statement it was grieved by the losses on both sides and called for an end to anti-Semitism around the world:
Chelsea FC is enormously saddened by the huge loss of life following last weekend’s attacks on Israel. We stand with the Jewish community in London and around the world in the face of the rising tide of antisemitism, which we have long campaigned against. We will join with our fellow Premier League clubs in remembering all the innocent lives lost in Israel and Gaza in recent days at Stamford Bridge when we play Arsenal.
Earlier it was announced that the matches of the ninth matchday of the EPL will begin with a moment of silence in memory of all those who died in the conflict.
