Former head coach of Real Madrid Fabio Capello believes that Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski is responsible for the team manager's struggles.
Spanish media outlet Marca quotes the specialist as saying:
Fabio Capello
Lewandowski is failing him[Xavi] a little bit, he is not the same as last year, and that is important. Xavi’s main problem at Barcelona is that he is missing Lewandowski, who is not playing at the level we know him to be at.
After 20 rounds of the current Primera season, the Blaugrana occupy the third line of the standings with 44 points, eight points behind the leader Girona. Lewandowski has eight goals and four assists in 18 games.
Earlier it was reported that the Polish forward may terminate his contract with Barcelona at the end of the season-2023/24. The 35-year-old striker himself stated that he is going to keep playing for another three or four years.
