According to UOL, following the dismissal of Dorival Junior as head coach of the Brazil national team, the local football confederation (CBF) is exploring the possibility of appointing a foreign specialist for this role.
The CBF considers Carlo Ancelotti (Real Madrid coach), Josep Guardiola (Manchester City’s head coach), and Jorge Jesus (Al-Hilal coach) among other candidates.
CBF President Ednaldo Rodrigues is showing a preference for Ancelotti. It has also been reported that Guardiola is open to the offer to coach the national team and feels a special connection to Brazil.
Dorival Junior had been managing the Brazil national team since January 2024. After 14 rounds of the qualifying stage for the 2026 World Cup, the Brazilian team currently ranks fourth.
