Former Italy, Juventus, and AC Milan defender Leonardo Bonucci has been appointed as an assistant coach for the U20 national team.
This information was confirmed by the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) press office. The team is currently coached by Bernardo Corradi.
Leonardo came back home. I am convinced that Leo can grow a lot in Italy and, at the same time, can offer an important contribution to the construction of the federal coaching academy.
Bonucci finished his professional playing career in May 2024 at the age of 37. The majority of his career was spent at Juventus, where he played from 2010 to 2017 and then again from 2018 to 2023.
In addition to Juventus, Bonucci also had stints with Fenerbahce (Turkey), Union (Germany), and Italian clubs such as Inter, AC Milan, Bari, among others.
Throughout his career, he won the Italian championship nine times (with Juventus and Inter) and twice reached the Champions League final.
