Portuguese footballer Bernardo Silva from English club Manchester City responded to questions about the team's reliance on Spanish midfielder Rodri.
Bernardo Silva for City Xtra
I won two Premier Leagues without Rodri. Kevin De Bruyne, who is in my opinion and probably many the best player in the history of Manchester City and one of the best in the Premier League, spent at least six months injured in two of the six titles we won. Of course Rodri is important, there is no player like him in the world. The main reason [for our poor performances] is not missing him, we didn’t have defenders.
Currently, Manchester City are in sixth place in the English Premier League (EPL) standings, having earned 34 points after 20 matches. Spanish midfielder Rodri suffered a severe knee ligament injury, which will keep him out for the rest of the season.
