On February 19, the second leg of the UEFA Champions League playoff round for the 2024/2025 season took place at the Estádio da Luz in Lisbon, featuring a match between Portugal's Benfica and Monaco.
In the fourth minute of stoppage time in the second half, referee Glenn Nyberg from Sweden came up to a VAR monitor to review a controversial moment regarding a potential penalty for a foul on Benfica defender Samuel Dahl. At that moment, one of the Benfica fans started waving a 50-euro bill in front of the referee, trying to influence the decision concerning a penalty kick.

After reviewing the video replay, Nyberg ultimately did not call a penalty in Anatoliy Trubin’s net.
The match ended in a 3-3 draw. Since Benfica won the first leg at the Stade Louis-II in Fontvieille with a score of 1-0, they advanced to the Round of 16. Benfica will face the winner of the matchup between Spain's Barcelona and England's Liverpool.
