One of the leaders of the English national football team, midfielder of Real Madrid, Jude Bellingham, commented on the outcome of the Euro 2024 Championship final for TalkSport.
On July 14 in Berlin at the Olympic Stadium field, under the management of Gareth Southgate, the Three Lions lost 1-2 to the Spanish national team in the Euro 2024 final. The English coach became the first specialist in football history to lose two consecutive final matches in the continental championship.
Midfielder Cole Palmer scored a consolation goal for the English team in the 73rd minute. Bellingham, 21 years old, who started in the English lineup and played the entire match, contributed with an assist in the goal-scoring episode.
We sacrificed a lot throughout the last weeks. It’s so tough with crazy schedules and then coming together for the end of the season for one last tournament. It’s difficult on the body – mentally and physically you are exhausted. We all wanted nothing more than to make history and to make the people of England proud and we didn’t quite deliver.
On July 15, CIES named Bellingham as the most expensive player who participated in the Euro 2024 final (€285 million).
