France Football has compiled a list of candidates for the The Kopa Trophy, which is given annually to the best young footballer at the end of the calendar year.
The list includes 20-year-old England midfielder Jude Bellingham of Real Madrid, 19-year-old Barcelona and Spain midfielder Gavi, 20-year-old attacking midfielder of Germany and Bayern Jamal Musiala, Eduardo Camavinga from Real Madrid, Pedri from Barcelona, Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig, António Silva from Benfica, Rasmus Højlund, who moved from Atalanta to Manchester United, and Elye Wahi, who swapped Montpellier for Lance.
The Kopa Trophy award has been presented annually to the best young footballer since 2018. Last year the prize was awarded to the midfielder of Barcelona and the Spanish national team Gavi, a year earlier his teammate Pedri won the award. Note that both players of the Blaugrana are candidates for the Kopa Trophy in 2023.
