Inter Miami co-owner David Beckham has talked about his view on the future of Argentine striker Lionel Messi at the American club.
The 36-year-old Argentine has been playing for Inter Miami since July 15, 2023, his contract with the club runs until December 31, 2025. In the current season, Messi has scored 11 goals and made five assists in 14 meetings in all tournaments.
ITASportPress quotes Beckham as saying:
We are very keen to keep him to help attract players and be involved with the football development of the club and football in the US. I think that will be a lot of fun for him as it’s been for me.
Earlier it became known that Messi was not included in the symbolic team of the 5th and 6th rounds of the South American selection of the World Cup-2026. Moreover, it was reported that in February 2024 Inter Miami will have a match with Al-Nassr, the club where Cristiano Ronaldo plays.
