The BBC television channel mocked the forward of the Portuguese national team, Cristiano Ronaldo, after he missed a penalty in the Euro 2024 round of 16 match against the Slovenia national team.
After the unsuccessful attempt by the Portuguese forward to score a penalty against Slovenia in the 105th minute of the match, BBC changed the player's name to "Misstiano Penaldo" during the broadcast. The footballer emotionally reacted to his miss.
However, in the penalty shoot-out after the match, where the Portuguese team emerged victorious with a score of 3-0, Ronaldo managed to convert his shot.
