Bayern Munich have announced the extension of goalkeeper and team captain Manuel Neuer's contract until the end of the 2025/2026 season.
Neuer has been a part of the record champions since 2011, winning 11 Bundesliga titles and two UEFA Champions League titles with the Munich club. The 38-year-old goalkeeper has made 547 appearances for Bayern.
His previous contract was valid until June 2025. The detailed terms of the agreement between Neuer and Bayern have not been disclosed.
Earlier in January, Neuer recovered from a broken rib sustained during a DFB-Pokal match. World Cup winner Lothar Matthäus previously expressed the opinion that Manuel is no longer a cornerstone for Bayern.
