Bayer Leverkusen's CEO, Fernando Carro, has revised his previous statements regarding the transfer value of midfielder Florian Wirtz. He emphasized that the club has no intention of selling Wirtz in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Carro said in an interview with ZDF:
I made a mistake when I said that Florian's price was around 150 million euros. In fact, he has no price tag for us. If he were at Real Madrid or Barcelona, we would be talking about 1 or 2 billion euros.
He also stressed that if no players expresses a desire to leave, the club would prefer to keep everyone. Carro added that climbing to the top is easier than staying there.
This season, Wirtz has played 30 matches for Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga, scoring 11 goals and making 11 assists.
