21-year-old German midfielder Florian Wirtz has extended his contract with Bayer Leverkusen, as reported by the publication Kicker.
His previous contract was set to expire in 2026, while the new agreement will last until 2027.
Wirtz has been with Bayer since July 2020. During his time at the club, he has played 176 matches, scored 52 goals, and provided 55 assists. The German player's transfer value is estimated at 130 million euros by the Transfermarkt website.
Earlier, journalist Florian Plettenberg reported that the management of FC Barcelona are planning to sign Bayer defender Jonathan Tah. In other news, Wirtz has managed to match Lionel Messi's record for goals scored in European competitions.
