Barcelona's sporting director Deco has dismissed the possibility of signing 33-year-old forward Neymar, who currently plays for Santos.
According to Sport.es, Deco cited several reasons against the Brazilian's return. He believes Neymar has passed the peak of his career and will not be able to regain his previous form.
Additionally, the club is concerned about the negative impact Neymar might have on younger players. Lastly, Deco reminded everyone that Neymar had previously rejected the idea of continuing his career at Barcelona.
Neymar played for the Catalan club from 2013 to 2017, appearing in a total of 186 matches, scoring 105 goals, and providing 76 assists. His contract with Santos runs until the end of the current season, and Transfermarkt estimates the Brazilian winger at 15 million euros.
Previously, Neymar commented on his return to the Brazilian national team after a long absence due to injury.
