Barcelona Players Considered Boycott of Spain National Team Amid Situation with Olmo

Barcelona players were contemplating a boycott of the Spain national team call-up if the club's midfielder, Dani Olmo, was not registered to participate in the second half of the current La Liga season. This information was reported by Sport.es.

According to the source, players like Gavi, Pedri, Cubarsi, Casado, Yamal, and Fermin considered joining the boycott.

AS further clarifies that the footballers aimed to protest against the Royal Spanish Football Federation's (RFEF) stance, which supported La Liga president Javier Tebas instead of defending Barcelona's interests.

However, on January 8, it was announced that the Higher Sports Council of Spain (CSD) temporarily approved Olmo's inclusion in La Liga, the Spanish Cup, and the Super Cup, despite refusals from La Liga and the RFEF.

Barcelona's head coach Hans-Dieter Flick said that the team was thrilled by Olmo's registration.
