Catalan club Barcelona has included Spanish midfielder Dani Olmo in the squad for the Copa del Rey semi-final match against Athletic Bilbao.
In early January, La Liga and the Spanish Football Federation officially confirmed that Barcelona would not be able to register Olmo and Pau Victor for the remainder of the current season. It was reported that clubs in the Spanish league would take legal action if the midfielder was registered.
Dani Olmo joined Barcelona from RB Leipzig last summer. The club has only been able to register him until the end of 2024, the same goes for Pau Victor, who came from Girona. In his six months with the Blaugrana, Olmo has played 15 matches, scoring six goals and providing one assist.
