According to Marca, Barcelona defender Mapi Leon has received a suspension due to an incident that occurred during a February match against Espanyol, where she was accused of touching the intimate area of an opposing player.
The match, part of the 18th round of La Liga, ended with Barcelona defeating Espanyol 2-0. After the game, a video surfaced on social media showing Leon trying to provoke Espanyol player Daniela Karakas. Espanyol has expressed its readiness to support Karakas if she chooses to pursue legal action.
Reports indicate that Leon has been suspended for two matches in La Liga due to inappropriate conduct toward her opponent. Barcelona attempted to appeal the decision to the Spanish Sports Tribunal, but all appeals were rejected.
As a result of the suspension, Mapi Leon missed the game against Atletico Madrid on Sunday and will not be able to participate in the match against Sevilla.
