A ball that will help referees to recognize hand play and offside position will be used at the European Championship in 2024. This is reported by The Times.
According to reports, the ball-tracking technology will help referees make decisions in hand and offside positions at Euro 2024. It determines the moments when the rules are violated. It is noted that the playing ball is equipped with a microchip with a detection system. Those making the decisions will get a three-dimensional representation of the players' skeletons.
The technology will be able to determine which part of the body was hit by the ball. However, it will not necessarily lead to the reversal of the decisions.
