AS: Super League Drafts €3.5 Billion Lawsuit Against UEFA

The European Super League is drafting a €3.5 billion damages claim against the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA), AS reports.

According to the source, the Super League suggests that it has suffered heavy financial losses due to the loan that was agreed with JP Morgan bank to launch the tournament. The Super League also plans to seek compensation from UEFA for lost profits from the television rights to the tournament.

In December, the Court of Justice of the European Union ruled that FIFA and UEFA do not have a monopoly on hosting football tournaments and lifted the ban on the creation of the Super League.

The start of the new club championship's first season is scheduled for September 2025.

Earlier, the head of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA), Aleksander Ceferin, said that nobody was willing to compete in the Super League and called the project non-existent. About twenty clubs from the top-5 leagues have publicly refused to participate.
